Information We Collect

• Career materials you upload or paste, including resume files, extracted resume text, target role information, industry selections, job descriptions, portfolio or role evidence, and optional communication-style materials.
• Assessment inputs, including optional communication-style profile, supporting evidence text, report preferences, language setting, and other information you enter into the audit flow.
• Contact and order information, including delivery email, checkout identifiers, order identifiers, and payment status metadata.
• Technical and usage information, including browser, device, page interactions, upload metadata such as file names and sizes, analytics events, error logs, and approximate performance data.

How We Use Information

• Generate the free gap preview and full career transition report.
• Extract text from supported files, validate file type and size, and diagnose upload or report generation failures.
• Attach reports to a delivery email, support order recovery, and handle support or refund requests.
• Improve product reliability, abuse prevention, security, analytics, and user experience.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce our terms.

AI Processing

CareerFitMap uses AI services to generate diagnostic insights, bridge paths, resume positioning suggestions, interview scripts, and action plans. To provide those outputs, your submitted career materials and assessment inputs may be sent to our AI provider or related service providers.

Before AI processing and order snapshot storage, CareerFitMap automatically scans for and hides common direct contact details such as email addresses, phone numbers, government ID patterns, and WeChat-style handles. This reduces unnecessary exposure, but it is not a guarantee of full anonymization and you should avoid submitting information that is not needed for the report.

CareerFitMap is an independent AI-assisted product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any AI model provider. We do not use your resume content to train CareerFitMap models. Third-party AI providers process data under their own service terms and security practices, and we use them only as needed to operate the report workflow.

File Handling And Browser Storage

The current implementation processes uploaded files to extract text and does not intentionally keep original uploaded files as long-term product records. Supported uploads are limited to PDF, DOCX, PNG, JPG, and WebP, with a total upload limit of 10MB.

The current report flow stores the working snapshot, generated report, delivery email, report id, and payment state in your browser session storage so the page can recover the current session. You can clear this data by clearing browser site data or session storage for CareerFitMap.

For paid orders, the server may store a raw input snapshot that includes extracted resume text, target role details, job description text, communication-style evidence text, and the displayed resume file name so payment return, report generation, and recovery can work. That raw input snapshot becomes eligible for cleanup after 24 hours and is cleared by a daily retention job. Generated reports, order records, delivery status, and support records may be retained longer so you can access the report, recover a purchase, request support, or meet legal and accounting requirements.

Service Providers And Sharing

We may share information with service providers that help us run CareerFitMap, including hosting infrastructure, analytics providers, AI providers, payment processors such as Creem, email or support tools, and security or logging services.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate misuse, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

Analytics

CareerFitMap uses Vercel Analytics and product events to understand feature usage, funnel performance, reliability, and conversion when analytics is enabled. These events may include actions such as resume upload, communication-style selection, free audit completion, upsell clicks, checkout status, and report print actions.

If you choose essential-only storage in the cookie banner, CareerFitMap does not intentionally load browser analytics or send product analytics events from your browser. Essential storage may still be used to keep the audit and report workflow functional.

Data Retention

Browser session data remains on your device until the browser removes it or you clear it. Raw input snapshots tied to paid orders become eligible for cleanup after 24 hours and are cleared by a daily retention job. Generated reports, server logs, analytics data, support emails, order records, and delivery records may be retained for the period reasonably necessary to operate the service, recover reports, resolve disputes, improve security, comply with law, and support accounting or refund obligations.

Your Choices

• You can choose not to upload materials or not to provide optional job description and communication-style evidence materials.
• You can clear browser storage to remove locally stored workflow data.
• You can contact us to request access, deletion, correction, or other privacy assistance, subject to identity verification, legal limits, and technical feasibility.
• You can control cookies, local storage, and analytics preferences through your browser settings, although some storage may be necessary for the product to function.

Additional Rights For EEA, UK, And Similar Regions

Depending on where you live, you may have privacy rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal data. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

CareerFitMap processes personal data to provide the service you request, operate checkout and report delivery, protect the service, improve reliability, respond to support requests, and meet legal obligations. Where required, we rely on contract necessity, consent, legitimate interests, and legal obligations as applicable.

California Privacy Notice

If you are a California resident, you may have rights to know, access, delete, and correct personal information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. You can contact us using the contact details below to make a request.

CareerFitMap does not sell personal information. We also do not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes, we will update this notice and provide any required opt-out controls.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so please avoid uploading information that is not needed for the career audit.

Children

CareerFitMap is not intended for children under 18. Do not use the service if you are under 18 or do not have permission from a parent or guardian where required.
